It’s the most common style, which is popular among proprietors. It’s a durable variation that provides good water protection. Besides, the peculiarities of construction guarantee the absence of edges to absorb & hold moisture. The more boards there’re in the construction, the sturdier the covering will be. It’s possible to choose the exposure, which is 10-20 cm on average. This style is also known as beveled cedar siding. running between each board, which adds a contemporary look to the building. Another alternative is the Dutch lap style, where the bigger horizontal boards are separated by skinny, inverted segments of the covering.

Channel covering

Channel covering. It’s a universal solution thanks to the opportunity to install panels horizontally, diagonally, or vertically. Here, an overlapping edge is used, which allows the wood to expand & contract along with the temperature changes. At the same time, the structure doesn’t get damaged. To produce such a covering, the small groove is cut along the long side of the board. The panels also overlap each other. This covering guarantees good protection from water. In addition, it creates a rustic look.

Split log

Split log. To create such a style, a special method of cutting is used. As a result, one part of the board preserves its natural curves. The underside is flat, so it can be easily installed on the wall. This covering might need additional protection from moisture & insects. In general, it creates a very cozy & beautiful design.

Tongue n’ groove

Tongue n’ groove. Such covering is also characterized by versatility. It’s possible to install this cedar siding vertically, horizontally, or even diagonally. There’s a groove on one side of each board. A special tongue is located on the other side. As a result, the panels can securely interlock together. The covering created with these panels is smooth and creates a wonderful design with antique notes.

Shingle covering

Shingle covering. This type of covering is able to create a very modern nice look. The panels create a smooth surface that can be stained or painted according to the preferences of the proprietor. The cedar siding for homes is easy to install, so it can be applied to the building of any shape. There’re cases when the covering is necessary to be treated with fire-retardant (in the areas with high fire frequency).

Shake covering

Shake covering. This solution is very similar to the previous one. However, this covering is thicker and, thus, more durable compared to cedar wood siding shingles. The surface & cut are rougher. The lengths of panels might be different & usually vary from 40 to 60 cm. The layers overlap each other, so the surface has an additional texture. The same as shingles, shake covering should be treated with fire-redundant in certain cases. The covering creates a nice rustic look.
